That would be a victory in my opinion." Donald Rumsfeld, December 2001 by Bridget Gibson 07/12/04 "ICH" -- We, the People, have a Moment of Choice in one hundred and twenty days. On November 2, 2004, Election Day in the United States, We, the People, have the Obligation and Right to stand for our Country and Constitution. We, the People, have the opportunity to cast our votes and have our voices heard around the World because of the humanity and integrity of Our Forefathers, who wrote the Constitution. We, the People, shall proclaim America to either be “Tighter, Righter, Whiter and Elitist” (GHW Bush/New World Order) or The Land of the Free and that the Bush Doctrine is dead. The Senate Committee reported that the CIA provided faulty intelligence that lead our nation to war in Iraq. The premise for the Bush Doctrine of “pre-emptive strike” should have an automatic death. This administration is clinging to its doctrine that War is Peace. Rumsfeld’s “Long Hard Slog” swallows the lives of our children, husbands, cousins, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers and marches inexorably on through the Fog of War. Today’s Death Toll in Iraq is 885. At the rate of only One a Day, by election day 2004, the death toll will exceed one thousand American Soldiers. Our lives will continue to have no other meaning than “One Fodder Unit” to feed the War Machine and fostering the Belief that throwing bodies into the conflict will resolve the misguided notion that Democracy can be had at the end of a gun or the fall of a bomb. The lure of all that Oil beneath the Bloody Sands of the Middle East calls to the Consumers who believe theirs is a God-given right to drive their subs. On April 16, 2004, General Camwood told the world to “change the channel” if they did not like watching women and children die and their deaths are countless because “We don’t do body counts,” General Tommy Franks said on eve of the Iraqi invasion. Today our Country continues to shovel its Treasury into the Greedy hands of the Halliburtons, Bechtels, Titans, CACIs and other War Profiteering Corporations. We, the People, must look closely in the mirror and find the beams in our own eyes and stop pointing to the splinters in Others. Our wanton Immorality allows our Country to feel superior to other nations and has brought our once great Nation into the Shadows. We deride anyone who doesn’t look like Us, talk like Us, act like Us. We call upon Our God to prevail against Their God so that We can live beyond our means. Our Government spends in the Deficit, borrowing funds from other Countries because we do not save to buy what we want. Credit Cards and Easy Money, Cheap Gas for our mortgaged vehicles are our driving Ambitions. We are not satisfied with a Chicken in every Pot and Car in every Driveway (because we have loaded the garage with our overflowing excesses); we Must have all our wildest Dreams answered before we have earned a Penny toward any goal. We have become a Nation of Consumers, greedily scooping up the lion’s share of the world’s resources, financed by the very Countries upon whom we look down our Noses. We despise the Communists; but giddily purchase all the cheap and tawdry baubles that China waves so cheerily in our malls. We willingly send our manufacturing jobs elsewhere because we want WalMart’s “rolled back prices.” Illegal immigrants pick our vegetables so that we don’t get our hands dirty. We are Better and deserve the White-Collar jobs. Now those are being outsourced, too. How shall we “put food on our families”? (GW Bush January 27, 2000) Alan Greenspan suggests Mortgaging our Homes and living off the Proceeds. This can keep us Consuming until the house is gone. Then where will We be? Homeless and Hungry. But We despise Homeless and Hungry people and have removed all the Social safety nets happily because Politicians tell us that “Welfare” is what is wrong with our Country. We have forgotten the Preamble to the Constitution: We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. Senator Gordon Smith R-Oregon, is now Crying and Begging the Senate to pass a mental health bill because his Child committed Suicide. Where were his fellow Republicans when Clinton tried to introduce a comprehensive Health Care Bill in 1992? Suicide ranks third in the cause of death for youth aged 15 to 24 in America. Why wouldn’t Gordon Smith Cry and Beg for all those other people’s children? Why will Republican Politicians will only act when it hits them where They live? Is this the true meaning of “Compassionate Conservatism”? Newt Gingrich’s Contract on America ushered in the Era of our County’s self-destruction making us Homeless and Hungry. Those Politicians that continue to support such Cannibalistic measures need to hear from you. Register to Vote Now. I suggest that we make all those Senators and Representatives Homeless and Hungry.
